The Bhote Koshi Gorge

The Bhote Koshi Gorge is the first Bungee jump sport in Nepal and most probably the best jumping sites in the world. It is situated 160 meters above the Bhote Koshi River. The Bhote Koshi River is one of the wildest rivers in Nepal which makes the Bungee more exciting. The Bungee in the Bhote Koshi River is the longest jump in the world.

The Bridge

The Bhote Koshi Bridge is one of the longest suspension bridge in Nepal which uses over 6000 meters of the steel wire for its construction. The suspension bridge was designed by New Zealand’s leading Bungee consultant and is operated by the most experienced personnel in the business. The bridge was specially designed for Bungee Jumping with a 4x safety factor. The bridge has a loading factor of 41,500 kg or 4.5 tons which is according to the Swiss measurements. The bridge is very carefully made and always secures the safety of the jumpers seriously. The suspension bridge is the only privately owned bridge in the country.

Location

The Bungee spot is about 3 hours away from the capital of Kathmandu, Nepal. To reach the spot, you need to drive from Kathmandu along the Araniko Highway (Nepal-Lhasa) up to within 12 kilometers of Nepal-Tibet border and the Famous Friendship Bridge.

Age and Weight Limits for Bungee Jump

You can enjoy the adventurous Bungee jumping without any restrictions in your age. However, someone who is below 18 years old requires their parents to sign a parental consent for the jump. The maximum weight limit for the Bungee jump is 100 kg. Wear tight, closed shoes and comfortable clothes to make it cozier.

Seasons for the Bungee Jump in Bhote Koshi

September, October, November, March April and May are the most favorable seasons for the Bungee jumping in The Bhote Koshi River suspension bridge. However, the jump is only available four days a week, i.e. Sunday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday for the months December to January and June to August. You can enjoy the jump six days a week except Monday in the months March to May and September to November.

Price/ Cost of the Jump

For foreigner Nationality- Euro 90 per individual

For Indian and Chinese Nationality- Rs 8200 per individual

For Nepal citizens- Rs 5500 per individual

The cost includes one jump, two-way transport facility by a private bus and a meal. You need to pay an extra charge if you want the photographs and the video filmed for you.

Bungee Jump in Hemja, Pokhara (Water Touch Bungee)

Along with the natural beauty and scenario, Pokhara is already famous all around the world for the adventures it offers to the tourists like Paragliding, Ultra flight, Zip Flyer, Trek, Stand up paddle and many more. Adding on, Pokhara presents another new and exciting adventure of water touch Bungee to the visitors with an aim to boost up the tourism in Pokhara. It was officially started on 23rd September 2014. The jump is available every day for the jumpers.

About the Jump

The water touch Bungee is situated in Hemja, near the Tibetan camp, in Kaski district in Pokhara. The jump occurs from an 80 meters high Cliff Steel tower. There is an artificial pond at the bottom. The pond is 18 to 20 meters deep. This jump facility can handle 30 to 40 persons per day.

You jump down from the tower, fly in the air and then dive into the lake. You can jump either with your friend, or you can go alone. Make your head hit the water into the clear water of the pond as you reach the bottom. A boat is available to pick up the jumpers after their jump is completed. Flying from the height and soaked from head to toe at the end. What could be a better idea to end your adventure other than the way ‘The Water Jump Bungee’ offers?

For Nepali citizen- Rs 3,490 per individuals

For Foreign Nationalities- Rs 6,890 per individuals

However, the cost of the photographs is not included in the price. If you want the photographs and the videos made for you, you need to pay an extra $15.

Possible Risks during the Jump

Bungee jump being adventurous in one hand is also somewhat dangerous in another hand. Injuries may occur if the safety harness fails and there is a mistake in the calculation of the length of the cord. Another cause of the injury is maybe if the cord is not connected properly to the jump platform. Serious injury results when the cord coil around the neck of the jumper. So, proper caution must be paid in order to accomplish the jump in a successful way.

Injuries may include the increase in the intravascular pressure and eyesight damage. Retinal Hemorrhage may occur which may take several weeks to recover. Thus, before you go for the Bungee jump, make sure you do not have the following conditions that may cause a problem or enhance the level of danger for prevention is always better than cure:
