Everest Base Camp is the most visited place of the Himalayan region. It is the gateway to the world’s tallest mountain, Mount Everest. EBC is located in the Khumbu region of Solukhumbhu district. Everest Base Camp is situated at the height of 5,380 meters high up in the Himalayas.
The base camp provides you the thrilling experiences and magnificent views of mountains ranges. The only way to get there is via fight from Kathmandu to Lukla. The trek passes through the spectacular viewpoint of the Kalapathar at 5,643 meters. While trekking to EBC you can explore the beautiful Sherpa village and the ancient Gompas. Upper Mustang is also known as the peak of the hidden world of the Buddhist kingdom of Mustang, also called Lo and isolated region of the Nepalese Himalayas. The Upper Mustang was restricted for the foreigners until 1992 and is one of the most preserved regions in the world. The Upper Mustang comprises the two-thirds of the Mustang District.
The local people follow the Tibetan culture and speak the traditional Tibetan languages. Upper Mustang is also described as Mountain Desert of Nepal. Janakpur is also known as Janakpurdham which was the Dynasty of Mithila region. The Maithili people are famous for their Mithila paintings. The Maithili women draw these paintings on pottery, walls and country yards, also known as Mithila Art and speak Mithila language.
The city includes a significant celebration of Hindu festivals like Vivaha Panchami, Holi (festival of colors), and Chhath Puja. Vivah Panchami, where the Rama and Sita married at the Vivah Mandap Temple.
Tilicho Lake is one of the beautiful highest glaciers lakes in the world which is located in Manang district of Nepal. Situated at an altitude of 4,919 meters in the Annapurna ranges of the Himalayas, it is one of the most popular side hikes of the Annapurna Circuit trek.
Trek to Tilicho takes 4-5 days, and no need of camping as new lodge has been built between Manang and the Tilicho lake. Hike from the Tilicho Base Camp can be done in one day. The lake holds the religious value and many pilgrims travel in every year. Tilcho Lake is also known as Kak Bhusundi Lake which was mentioned in the epic Ramayan.
The lake is surrounded by the Khangsar, Muktinath peak, Nilgiri, and Tilicho peak. The route to the lake is extremely tricky due to its rocky slope down the mountain but your effort is a total worth as it is one of the beautiful places in Nepal.
Rara Lake is the largest and biggest freshwater lake in Nepal, located in the Rara National Park and Jumla and Mugu district which lies at an altitude of 2990 meters. The surface of Rara Lake is 10.8 square kilometers. It is also known as ‘The Queen of Lake.’

In the southeast corner, there is a Thakur’s Baba temple. People believe that Thakur God shot an arrow to open the passage of the lake to reduce the damage caused by the flood. The weather of Rara Lake is quite pleasant during the summer season, but in the winter season, it’s too cold. The best time to visit the lake in September or October and April to May.
Gosaikunda is a fresh alpine water lake located at an altitude of 4,380 meters, surrounded by the mountains in Langtang National Park in Rasuwa district. The sacred lake is one of the most beautiful places in Nepal.
In this area, there are 108 glacier lakes from small to medium in size. The lake is frozen for six months in winter October to June. Gosaikunda lake is surrounded by Himalayas range, delightful forest, and lush wild nature.
Gosaikunda is a holy place for both Buddhist(Shamans)and Hindu Pilgrims. Every year in the Janai Purnima, according to the Nepali Calendar in the month of Bhadra (August full moon day) many Hindu pilgrims come here from all over the Nepal and India to worships God Shiva. Shamans (Dhami or Jhaakri) are also called Bon-Po in Tamang language and pre-Buddhist also come to here on the full moon day from all over Nepal. Shaman performs spiritual song and dance during the ceremony from where they start their journey until the end of the Gosaikunda and on that day the ‘Junior Jhaakri’ obtain the graduation from their masters.
It is believed that once you take bathe in the holy lake all your pain, sorrows and sins will be washed off.
Lumbini is the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Siddhartha Gautam was born in 563 B.C. The distance from Kathmandu to Lumbini is around 230 kilometers and can be arrived through a plane or a bus in a day.
Lumbini is a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the Rupandehi District. Lumbini covers an area of 2.56 sq km. The area has subtropical monsoon climate with the warm wet season. The temple of Maya Devi is one of the most important places in the Lumbini Garden where Queen Maya Devi gave birth to the Gautam Buddha and the newly born prince took his first seven steps.
Another attraction of Lumbini is the Ashoka Pillar, along with the four stupas. Monks in saffron-robed clothing can also be seen there.
Panch Pokhari is a group of five holy lakes, located in the Sindhupalchowk district in Nepal. It is ninth highest altitude wetland in the world. It has been lately opened and includes the sacred places of Hindu. Panch Pokhari offers the pristine mountain views, rich culture, magnificent natural beauty and features different biological diversity. Every year in Janai Purnima, numerous Hindus and Buddhist pilgrims visit Panch Pokhari.
Shey Phoksundo Lake is a fresh alpine water lake, at an elevation of 3,611.5 meters above from the sea level, located in the Dolpa district. Phoksundo lake covers 1.91 sq. Km. Shey Phoksundo Lake is the deepest lake in the Himalaya region. Phoksundo lake’s color is exotic turquoise blue.
It is the real natural beauty along with spectacular views of the magnificent snow-capped mountains. There are more than 20 stupas in the southern belt and one gompa in the eastern side of the lake.
Annapurna Base Camp lies in Annapurna Conservation Area with an area of 7,629 sq. Km. Annapurna Base Camp is an amazing walk through the diverse landscape and rich mountain vistas. It is one of the most popular tourist treks of Nepal.
Annapurna Base Camp route passes through the paddy fields, subtropical forest, several waterfalls, gigantic cliff and beautiful Gurung and Magar villages.
The route offers the spectacular views of Machhapuchare Moutain, Dhaulagiri, Pisang Peak and Paungda Danda.
Chitwan National Park is home to many endangered species especially for Bengal tiger and one horn rhino. It is rich in biodiversity. Chitwan National Park has 68 mammals species, 600 species of birds and 55 species of amphibian and reptiles.
Chitwan National Park is the first and oldest national park of Nepal which was established in 1973 and listed in World Heritage Site in 1984. The park located in the Terai lowlands of south-central Nepal and covers an area of 932 km. The altitude starts between 100m to 815 m. The National park lies in Churia hills and below the wetland hills.
Jungle safari can be done by riding on the back of elephants, jeep drive, jungle walk in the depth of the forest where visitors get a glimpse of many wildlife such as crocodile, cuckoos, Giant Hornbill, and Paradise Flycatcher including the Bengal tiger and one horn rhino.
Bardiya National Park is the largest national park and was established in 1988, covering 968 sq. Km in Terai lowland Nepal. Bardiya National Park joins the eastern bank of the Karnali River and bisected by the Babai River in the Bardiya district.
Bardiya National Park is the home to endangered Royal Bengal tiger and one-horn rhinoceros. Geographically the dense forest is cover by the various flora of Sal, Savannah, grasslands with diversified wildlife. The park has 53 species of mammals, 400 species of birds and 23 species of reptiles and amphibian. There are 839 species of flora and 642 species of fauna in this park. The park offers the opportunity of fishing in Karnali River and Babai River.
You can go there by fight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj and from Nepalgunj travel through the bus to the Bardiya.
