Groups typically depart Kathmandu early morning by private vehicle or tourist bus, heading northeast on the road toward the Tibet border. The drive takes 3 to 4 hours and is scenic in its own right, following the Bhote Koshi valley past terraced farmland, suspension bridges, and waterfalls tumbling off the hillsides.
On arrival at The Last Resort, jumpers check in, complete a safety briefing, and get fitted with harnesses by the resort’s professional jump masters. Lunch is typically served before or after the jump depending on the day’s group schedule.
Jumpers cross the suspension bridge on foot to the jump platform at the bridge’s center, 160 meters above the river. After a final safety check, the jump master counts down, and the freefall begins. The bounce-back and controlled lowering to a support boat or the bridge above follows immediately after.
Jumpers begin the drive back to Kathmandu in the afternoon, arriving by early evening. Those extending their stay overnight can add rafting, canyoning, or the Canyon Swing the following morning before departing.
Best Time to Trek: Seasonal Comparison
The bungy jump at The Last Resort operates year-round, and the core experience does not change much by season since the jump itself is a matter of minutes. Autumn and spring (October to May) bring the clearest skies and driest road conditions, making the drive from Kathmandu more comfortable and the gorge views at their sharpest. The monsoon months (June to September) bring a fuller, more dramatic river below the bridge, but the mountain road can be affected by landslides, so schedules should be confirmed close to your travel date during this period.

The Last Resort has operated continuously since 1998 under international safety standards, using equipment and protocols originally designed by New Zealand bungy specialists. Jump masters are highly experienced, and the bridge and gear undergo regular inspection. As with any extreme adventure sport, some inherent risk exists, and adventure sports insurance is strongly recommended.
Most operators require jumpers to be at least 10 years old and weigh between 35kg and 130kg, though exact limits can vary. Pregnant travelers and anyone with certain heart, spine, or blood pressure conditions should not jump. Confirm current restrictions with your operator before booking.
Genuinely intense, especially in the seconds leading up to it. Most first-time jumpers describe the walk to the platform as the hardest part, with the jump itself over in seconds and immediately followed by adrenaline and relief. Nerves are completely normal and part of the experience.
Both options are available. A day trip is entirely possible, departing Kathmandu early morning and returning by evening. An overnight stay allows more time to add rafting, the Canyon Swing, or simply relax at the resort above the gorge.
Comfortable, closed-toe shoes, clothing you can move freely in, and a light jacket for the mountain drive. Avoid loose jewelry. A change of clothes is useful if you plan to combine the jump with rafting.
Yes. Non-jumping companions are welcome to watch from the bridge and gorge viewpoints, and many groups include a mix of jumpers and spectators.
