Itinerary
Your guide and private vehicle collect you from your hotel in Kathmandu, Patan, or Bhaktapur around 4:00–4:30 AM. The scenic 90-minute drive climbs out of the valley floor, passing small towns, terraced farmland, and forested switchbacks as the sky slowly begins to lighten. Along the way, your guide points out the shifting landscape as Kathmandu’s rooftops give way to pine forest and hill villages.
Arriving at Nagarkot before first light, you make your way to the View Tower, the highest point on the ridge at 2,195 metres. As the sun breaks over the horizon, it lights up the Himalayan range in sequence, with the snow peaks turning shades of pink, gold, and white. Your guide identifies each range as it catches the light: Everest, Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Gaurishankar, Dorje Lakpa, and the Annapurna range on the clearest days. Explore the stone carvings and courtyards of this UNESCO World Heritage Site before driving back to Kathmandu in the early afternoon, arriving in time for lunch.
