Day 01
ARRIVE AT KATHMANDU AND TRANSFER TO HOTEL
On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport you will be greeted by our staff who will escort you to the Hotel, where our Sherpa guide or the office staff will give you a brief orientation about the hotel, Kathmandu itself, trekking, and the do's and don’ts of the area. Also, they will go over any other related information that you might require while in Nepal. Evening complementary well come dinner in one of the finest traditional Nepalese restaurant in Kathmandu with necessary transfer and overnight at Hotel.
Day 02
ONE FULL DAY KATHMANDU VALLEY SIGHT SEEING
After your first night in Kathmandu, you will be well informed on arrival about the time for your full day guided sightseeing tour in Kathmandu. After your breakfast proceed your full day sight seeing tour to Kathmandu Durbar square visiting, ancient palace, living goddess temple Kumari temple, Hanuman Dhoka and Kastamandap temple. Transfer to Swoyambhunath stupa is also known as the Monkey Temple, further transfer to Pashupatinath temple the holiest shrine of the Hindu people and Boudhnath stupa of Buddhist pilgrimage center and back to hotel, evening briefing about the Bhutan trip with flight ticket and service details. Be ready this evening for tomorrow leaving to Bhutan and overnight at Hotel.
Day 03
FLY KATHMANDU - LHASA (3650M)
Today, morning we transfer to the intl. airport and fly to Lhasa over the majestic Himalayan range with the spectacular view of Everest (8848m), Makalu (8463m) and some of its adjoining peaks. Upon arrival in Lhasa airport, your guide will transfer you to the Hotel in Lhasa and afternoon at leisure for acclimatization and relax and overnight at Hotel.
Day 04
LHASA CITY SIGHTSEEING
Today, we go for city for sightseeing of Sera Monastery, one of the most important and old monastery of Tibet, as well a school for Tibetan Buddhism. The Jorkhang Temple is another interesting place to visit as it boasts a lot of historic importance and tales. Conclude the day tour by visiting Bharkor Bazaar and back to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 05
LHASA CITY SIGHTSEEING
We again ready for city sightseeing today in the morning. Visit to Potala Palace, originally built during 640 AD. The 13 storied palaces stand 117.19m high with 1000 rooms, big and small. Afternoon we visit Drepung Monastery; the largest of all monasteries in Tibet and back to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 06
DRIVE TO GYANTSE (3950M) 261 KM
Morning drive to Gyantse, the drive leads to the scenic highway past the Khamba-la at 4,800m and towards the Yamdrok Thso (The Torquoise lake) and towards the Karo-La 5,050m overlooking great view of the Nazong-Khangtsa peak and its massif ice fall just by the road, after a great drive of five hours, then reaching to Gyantse for the overnight halt and at Gyantse with time for a visit of Phalkor Monastery, Kumbum Stupa and the local market. Afternoon sightseeing of Kumbum Monastery if time and condition of the group permits or else, we can do it the next morning before heading to Shigatse and evening leisure and overnight at Gyantse hotel.
Day 07
DRIVE FROM GYANTSE TO SHIGATSE (3900M) 90 KM
This is about two hours driving, and when in Shigatse visit of the very large complex of Tashilumpo monastery. This is the traditional residence of the Panchen Lama and contains a 27m high gold plated Buddha known as Matria (the future Buddha). The hotel in Shigtase is quite large and comfortable and afternoon sightseeing of Tashilumpo monastery and the local market.
Day 08
DRIVE SHIGATSE TO SHEGAR (NEW TINGRI) (4450M) 244 KM
Travel on the Friendship Highway from Shigtse to Shegar. The drive is on the main Kathmandu / Lhasa highway, the road has improved since past few years and again crossing high passes, one at 4,500m and 5,200m. Driving through the town of Larze where the road to Mt.Kailash joins, after Larze the drive climbs to the highest pass at Gyamshola Pass, 5,220m. After the pass reaching at Shegar for the overnight stop. Shegar has a historical monument the Dzong (Fortress all around its hill top monastery).
Day 09
DRIVE TO RONBUK (4950M) 68 KM
Morning after breakfast from Shegar, the drive soon leaves the main highway heading towards the dirt road and climbing on the winding trail to the top of Pang-la at 5,200m. From Pang-la you can observe the greatest panoramic scenery of the high mountain, including five world’s highest peak Mt.Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho-Oyu and Mt. Shisapangma. With a great moment here drive leads downhill and towards the large farm village of Tashi Dzong. From here following the wide winding dirt road with few ups and down, the main road continues its slow ascent, twisting away from the river through arid landscapes of rocky hills and plains, through out this area are hundreds of small rock piles erected by devout Tibetans who have made the pilgrimage journey to Rongbuk Monastery and the abode of Mother Goddess. Getting past the creek gully, then the route follows the road into a series of morainal hills for another hour or less arriving at Rongbuk Monastery with superb full views of the massive North Face of Mount Everest that dominates the entire head of this valley and overnight stop near the Monastery with time to visit this ancient monastery. Rongbuk Gompa and its many hermitage retreats were introduced to the world in the 1920's through the account of the 1st British expedition’s teams of George and Irving Mallory and from the well-known novel Lost Horizon by James Hilton. At present most of the retreat cells are abandoned and only few small monasteries scattered at this end of the valley is in function. According to the Rimpoche of this area, the monastery was first established as a religious site around 250 to 350 years ago.
Day 10
RONGBUK TO EVEREST BASE CAMP (5200M) 20 KM
Today's final day of this great trip is a short walk of less than 3-4 hours, or one can take a taxi on the two wheels and horse cart to Base Camp. As the Everest or Chomolungma authority does not allow vehicle to enter through from Rongbuk only on special cases, the cost for a horse cart is about Yuan 70 -80 on motorbike it’s almost the same cost. Journey continues on this wide trail coming to the ruins of Sherab Chholing, just above the road from the Stupa with piles of prayers stones with time for a short visit to these old hermitage caves on route to Everest Base Camp.
After a visit to the hermit cave, another hour and half on the gravel, rocky track with the last climb over the rocky dunes for 20 minutes, after the climb coming towards Everest Base Camp, as the path reaches the base camp one can see a guest-house built by the Chinese Government perched on top of the moraine hill near the bunch of prayer flags with majestic views of Mt. Everest behind. After a wonderful morning with time to marvel the surrounding scenery head back to Rongbuk for overnight stop in the Lodge.
Day 11
DRIVE TO NYALAM (3700M) 215KM
After a great time at Rongbuk, morning drive leads past to the trail that we have driven following the river Rongbuk for sometime, then driving past number of isolated settlements and villages and through the farm fields of barley and yellow mustard fields. Our route follows north towards Lama-la pass, after climbing on the winding road for an hour reaching at the top of the pass at 5,100m. Our journey descends after another hour of steady drive coming back to the main Kathmandu-Lhasa highway at Old Tingri. This scenic drive continues with brief a stop on route at the top of Lay-Lung la at 5,050m, the last high pass of this trip which offers marvelous mountain scenery from Langtang range, Mt.Shishapangma and towards
Mt.Gaurishankar to Numbur peaks, bordering Nepal. After a great moment here drive leads downhill towards Nylam for the overnight stop. (Time permitting might carry on towards Zhangmu to make it easier shorter for the next day)
Day 12
DRIVE TO KATHMANDU (1300M) 180KM
After the passport and visa formalities, our drive continues near the Friendship Bridge just few minutes away from Nepal side. Here we leave and bid farewell to our Tibetan guide and drivers and walk towards Kodari, Nepal for the good drive of 4-5 hours to Kathmandu.
Day 13
LEISURE AT KATHMANDU
A free day in Kathmandu for individual activities such as explore the Thamel or shopping or relax at the hotel, if you are interested for extensions your days, contact with us and you can join in our extension trip.
Day 14
TRANSFER TO AIRPORT FOR FINAL DEPARTURE
Today keep in mind your international flight time, so make sure to keep your confirmed air ticket, departure tax (in local currency), and your passport handy. Our staff will take you to the airport for your final departure from our amazing country, Nepal.

Drive continues to the highest monastery at Rongbuk through the large village of Tashi Dzong, and valleys with the ever present vista of the snow capped mountain before reaching our highest destination at Everest Base Camp at 5,200m, with ample time to explore around and heading back to join the main Friendship Highway and the Trans Himalayan Trade Route at Tingri. Journey continues on the good road to the last frontier town at Zhangmu and then back to Kathmandu.
