Mulde Hill trekking is also known as Muldai Hill trekking and Khopa Danda trekking. It is a perfect trek to go if you are looking for trekking along natural beauty in complete tranquility. Annapurna region is a famous trekking destination of Nepal where lies many trails and routes. Although Mulde Hill lies in Annapurna region, it will show you a different picture of the Annapurna region. Mulde Hill is an appealing trek away from busy trekking trails and offers the spectacular view of Dhaulagiri range.
Mulde Hill trekking will take you to natural as well cultural diversity of Nepal where you will witness many diverse ethnic groups and their distinctive culture and tradition; get pass verdant forest and captivating beauty of snow-capped mountains. The trek will take you to the beautiful valley of Pokhara, quaint villages of ethnic groups like Magar and Gurungs, hills and rhododendron forested ridge lines which offer a mesmerizing view of Machhapuchhare, Annapurna massif, and other peaks.
Kopra ridge in Mulde Hill trek makes you feel closer to mountains of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna along with the unique view of deepest gorge in the world. The trek also offers an opportunity to visit the sacred lake of Lake Kaire which is optional. Although trekking to lake Kaire is long and strenuous, according to the trekkers of this side trek, it is one of the most rewarding places to visit.
Mulde Hill trek can be accomplished during autumn, spring and winter as well. Autumn and Spring will be the best season as the temperature is moderate, days are bright and fine giving you an opportunity to view the mountains perfectly. Also, in spring you will see various color of rhododendron flowers and wildflowers of different kind blooming so beautifully in trail. Winter is not an ideal season to trek, however as Mulde hill trek doesn’t take you to an extreme level of elevation, you can trek in winter as well. However, take enough warm clothes and a sleeping bag.
Another thing to take care of is acclimatization. Do not careless even if this trek is not a long one. If you are feeling any uneasiness, then rest for a day or more for better health and keep hiking at a certain pace. Also, drink enough water and keep yourself hydrated.

For starting the Mulde Hill trek, you will first take a flight to Pokhara, or you can take a bus ride as well. Pokhara is in the distance of about 200 kilometers from Kathmandu which takes 6-7 hours of journey. Pokhara is a tourism center of Nepal and one of the best holiday destination with beautiful lakes and amazing topography. Reaching Pokhara, take some hours and stroll around this remarkable city.
From Pokhara take a jeep and move towards Hile via Nayapul which takes about two hours to reach. While in a vehicle you will see the locals and their movements of daily life, which is interesting to watch. From Nayapul starts the trekking trail and you will move towards Uleri which is located in 2,100 meters elevation.
The next day after Uleri, you will trek towards a beautiful and quaint village called Ghorepani (2,800 meters). Ghorepani in itself is a popular trekking destination from where you can observe 360-degree views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Apart from these significant mountains, Nilgiri, Annapurna south, Tukuche, Dhampus, Barah Sikhar, and Machhapuchhre are some other peaks which can be seen from Ghorepani.
Staying overnight at Ghorepani, trek towards Poon Hill (3,210 meters) early next morning. Poon Hill is a popular spot from where a spectacular view of sunrise and sunset can be witnessed. So, be on time and capture the once in a lifetime moment of viewing the sunrise. After watching the sunrise, descend to Ghorepani and from Ghorepani trek towards Chitre. Now moving forward the next day after staying for a night in Chitre comes Dobata which is situated at 3,400 meters.
Moving on from Dobata finally comes Mulde hill which is also called Mulde viewpoint and it is at the height of 3,640 meters. From the hill point, you can view the snowcapped mountain of Annapurna ranges and Dhaulagiri ranges along with several other peaks. Well, they say more than 25 peaks can be observed from Mulde hill which is captivating and surprising as well.
Now, you will descend towards another beautiful village of Ghandruk. Ghandruk is another village rich in culture and nature. The village offers a mesmerizing view of Machhapuchre, Himchuli and Annapurna ranges. Also, Ghandruk is inhabitant by Gurung ethnicity of Nepal who is friendly and heartwarming. You will certainly enjoy staying here and observing the simple lifestyle and tradition of people living there.
Reaching this point, you are almost at the end of this trek. From Ghadruk, you will trek to Pokhara, the place where it all started. You can have a small celebration on accomplishing this beautiful trek in the beautiful Pokhara. Now, from Pokhara, you will get back to Kathmandu.
