After few hours of a long hard climb, there will be several breaks in between until reaching Ulleri village. From here the path is gradual, and you are rewarded with a walk through the cool shade of the forest. The walk continues with few short ups and down, but while walking in the midst of the giant rhododendron forest, you won’t notice the walk itself. Finally you will reach Ghorepani after a good 5-6 hours of trek. Ghorepani Deurali is a busy spot on the ridge in the midst of the beautiful rhododendron forest, offering grand views of Dhaulagiri range of mountains on the west and Annapurna to the north.

Day 6

Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Mt. Machhapuchare (Fish Tail), Manaslu, all the way to Ganesh Himalayan range. This is a nearly 600 k.m range of mountains that can be viewed from this magnificent spot watching the impressive sunrise on the mid western Himalaya range. After an enlightening time filled with spectacular views, return to Ghorepani for breakfast and continue trek to Tadapani, the walk passes through the Rhododendron, Pine, fur & bamboo forest with few short up and downs and until you finally reach Tadapani. About half an hour beyond Hinko is Deurali at 3000m as the trail continues into the sanctuary, it crosses two wide avalanche tracks on a narrow trail that huddles up against the cliffs. The trail then descends to meet the Modi Khola & follows the river to Bagar. From Bagar we climb across more avalanche paths cross a moraine and a stream. The climb then continues towards an area known as Machhapuchahre Base Camp (MBC) at the elevation of 3480m.  Annapurna Base Camp Trekking

‘In the heart of the massive snow capped peaks’

The route to Annapurna Sanctuary is in the site of the Annapurna Base Camp Trekking. The base camp is the most spectacular spot for the dramatic views of an array of snow capped peaks that surrounds the area. The trail has some steep climbs, but not too difficult. Annapurna Base Camp Trekking offers an opportunity to be immersed within the high Himalayan peaks, traditional villages, and serene alpine forest in a short but inclusive amount of time, without the hassle of the high altitude sickness.

Annapurna area was first explored by the British Adventure Col. James O.M. ‘Jimmy’ Roberts in 1956, exposed to the world as the ‘Sanctuary of Gods’. The Sanctuary has been christened as “Annapurna Sanctuary” ever since.

Adventure to the Annapurna Base Camp Trekking starts from outside Pokhara Valley, which is one of the most scenic spots in the area. The trek combines spectacular mountain views with incredible and cultural diversity, and traverses through rural farms and villages. The trail leads towards the deep gorge between the peaks-Hiunchuli and Machhapuchare. Then follow through the dense rain and bamboo forest of the narrow Modi Khola (river) valley, and on to the Sanctuary with immense walls of the mountain fortress. Once into the Sanctuary, you will be in the midst of an amphitheater of snow peaks including Annapurna I (8091m) Annapurna south (7219m), Gangapurna (7455m) and Annapurna III (7555m). It is a breathtaking experience.

This area is also referred to as the Annapurna Base Camp and Machhapuchare (Fish-tail) Base Camp.
Our return journey descends through the lush terraced Modi Khola valley which finally concludes the adventure in Pokhara. This is a popular destination with its famed Phewa Lake, dominated by the towering mountain range of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu range including the majestic peak Machhapuchare (Fish-Tail). This trek passes through a more diverse range of climate, vegetation and cultures than most small countries can boast in their entire nation. From the lush flora and fauna of rain and temperate forests to the terraced rice fields, the land and its people change daily, giving the trekkers a tantalizing introduction to Nepal’s cultural and natural beauty.
